Celebrations of Scouts and Parents

Posted on Feb 21 2019 - 7:50am

On Sunday, February 17 the pack assembled at Pilot Knoll Park to honor the Webelos II Scouts who have earned the Arrow of Light Award. The Arrow of Light is the highest rank a Cub Scout can reach, and by learning what the seven rays of the Arrow of Light represent wisdom, courage, self-control, justice, faith, hope, and love the scout has completed their Cub journey. As they continue on their Scouting path it is one of the only Cub Scout badges that can be worn on their new uniforms, to serve as an ever shining reminder of what their Arrow of Light represents.

Scout Sunday, scheduled around BSA's birthday in February, celebrates the  special relationship between Scout units and their faith-based chartering organizations. When asked where religion came into Scouting and Guiding, Baden-Powell replied, It does not come in at all. It is already there. It is a fundamental factor underlying Scouting and Guiding.
