Popcorn Update and Rewards

Posted on Sep 29 2022 - 11:32pm
Thanks for the great work selling popcorn so far! As a Pack we’ve sold over $9,000!!

With such a great sales turn out, we will have a special fun event in November (more info coming soon) using the profits from popcorn to cover the cost of each scout participating!!!

Additionally, for any scout who sells more than $100 of popcorn by November 14th, the pack will pay $50 of your $87 recharter fee for the 2023 pack year. Many of you have already reached this goal from store fronts or online sales but it’s not to late for everyone else too! Here are the ways you can still earn your $50 recharter credit:
  • Wagon Sales: Come pick up popcorn from Nicole Menke. You don’t pay anything up front and either return money or any unsold (undamaged) popcorn. All sales are still recorded in the Trails End app and payment can be collected using credit or cash.
  • Wagon Sales: Use the Trails End app to collect money using “undelivered” settings. All orders due by midnight October 14th. The pack will receive the popcorn November 5/6 to then have you distribute to your customers.
  • Storefront Sales: sign up for shifts at Market Street on 10/14 or 10/15. *inventory dependent on product remaining from wagon sales
  • Online orders: use the link in the trails end app to share with friend or family. Product directly to your customers. Free shipping over $55 or $9.99 shipping for orders less than $55.

McAuliffe Elementary Flag Duty

Posted on Sep 29 2022 - 11:24pm

Pack 163 provides Flag Duty daily to McAuliffe Elementary School and they are so very appreciative!

Please sign-up at https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C094AAAAD23A3F85-mcauliffe to help us provide that service.Flags should be raised anytime between 7:15-7:45am and lowered, folded, and stowed in the office as soon as school is dismissed. The flags do not need to be raised in inclement weather.

Raising and lowering the flags is not a one-man job, so parents can assist their scout(s) with Flag Duty or friends can team up to do it together. In fact, friends do not have to be a Cub Scout to help with Flag Duty!

The sign-up also includes instructions on how to fold the flags and a reminder on flag etiquette.

Popcorn Storefront Sales This Weekend!!

Posted on Sep 13 2022 - 2:03pm

Popcorn sales are our pack's main source of revenue which helps pay for scout advancements, awards, activities, camping, etc. The more we can fundraise, the less families will pay for scouting activities throughout the year.  We have 3 great opportunities for scouts to participate and help raise money this weekend!

  • Walmart Supercenter in Highland Village on Saturday Sept. 17th 8am-8pm
  • Market Street in Flower Mound on Sunday Sept. 18th 8am-2pm
  • Bass Pro in Grapevine on Sunday Sept. 18 2:30pm-7pm.

In order to sign up your scout, you will need to download the Trails-End app from your app store.  After downloading the app, create an account for your scout.  You will need to know that we are in the Longhorn Council, Orion District, and Pack 163 as part of creating your account. All sales must be done through the Trails-End app. If more than one adult will be helping a scout sell popcorn on multiple devices, use the same scout account to log into the app on each device. Do not make an account for yourself as an adult.

Once you have your scout account, you can begin making sales.  This can be done at storefronts, going door-to-door, or online.  The Trail's End app also allows you receive payments via credit cards and track cash payments.

Scouts can sign up for storefront shifts by clicking the 'Storefront' tab.  Shifts are for 2 scouts at a time in 1 hour increments, with no limit to the number of shifts a scout can work.  All storefront sales will be divided proportionally among the scouts participating based on the number of shifts a scout works.  Scouts also earn points the can redeem for Amazon gift cards as rewards for their sales!  Historically, storefront shifts allowed scouts to generate significantly more sales than going door to door, so it's a great way to maximize your efforts.

Adults will need to stay with their scout during the Storefront shifts, and have their phone with the Trails-End app downloaded.  Plan to arrive a few minutes early so an adult from the previous shift can answer questions or walk through a sale with you.  The Pack will have Square readers for Apple and Android phones to assist in credit card payments as well.

If your scout has a Class A  uniform (the official scout uniform with scarf, slide, hat, belt, etc.) or Class B uniform (the pack T-Shirt), please have your scout wear it at their shifts.  If not, that's ok.  We know its a busy time and we're happy to have as many helpers as possible.
